Hi all! Just a quick update: we’ve submitted our completed gTLD application to ICANN and paid the application invoice ($54,250). In the coming months, ICANN will review our application and do some due diligence as part of the pre-evaluation step.

We are humbled and excited to be one of 56 applicants that qualified for ICANN’s Applicant Support Program, as part of ICANN’s push to invite more communities to participate in the future of the domain name system.

Our next update comes on Reveal Day, which should be sometime in October (usually, 9 weeks after the application deadline). Following string confirmation, the dotfurry crew are planning to participate in the Prioritization Draw to hopefully give our gTLD the best chance at being processed quickly through Applicant Evaluation.

In the meantime, we are working to manufacture the remaining backer swag and perks, and will email a backer survey to collect a mailing address when that is ready to ship.

Here’s how you can continue to support our effort:

Though our crowdfunding campaign has closed, you can still make a tax-deductible donation to fund our mission throughout the applicant journey.

Also be sure to spread the word on social media. As we continue to progress in our applicant journey, we are extremely grateful to our ongoing supporters contributing to make the furry top level domain a reality.

Best,

Rechner, Geo, Kataze, and the furry hackers at Pawprint Prototyping.
